COMPOSITES Hoses for suction & discharge of fuels,oils,...
Primarily used for road tanker loading and offloading in plant applications were a robust flexible
hose is required with a proven safety record.
Compared to rubber hoses intended for similar applications, our composite hoses are generally
much lighter and more flexible. This is a major advantage particularly where the hose is to be
handled frequently e.g. road tanker, ship-to-shore and in-plant service
The hose construction
is unique and consists of spirally wrapped plies of thermoplastic fabrics and films held together by
internal and external wire helices.
The fabrics and outer wire provide most of the longitudinal and radial strength of the hose and the
films prevent the contents from escaping.
This type of hose is not vulcanised or bonded like rubber hose, the integrity of the hose is
maintained by the tension of the interlocking inner and outer wire helices.
This method of construction makes the wall of the hose highly corrugated. This imparts a high
degree of flexibility but also allows elongation under pressure to be quite high compared to most rubber hoses.
Working pressure : 7 upto 15 bars |

Convoluted flexible stainless steel hose
Construction:
manufactured from annularly corrugated tube formed from butt-welded rigid tube,
to BS6501 Part 1 type B flexibility; they also meet ISO 10380 class 1.
Assemblies to type C flexibility are also freely available.
Single or double layers of wire braid are applied externally to the hose.
The extent of braiding, gauge and angle of lay is carefully calculated for optimum
performance.
The stainless corrugated tube is available in the most common AISI stainless steel grades.
- Excellent corrosion resistance - stainless steel hose construction throughout
- High strength and safety - all-welded assembly
- Wide pressure range - from full vacuum up to 220 bar
- Fire and damage resistance - tough, all-metal construction.
- Sizes - from 1/4" up to 6" nb. larger sizes are available on request.
- Wide range of end fittings - BSP, NPT, flanges, hygienic type, specials, etc.
Interlock Hose
Interlocked metal hoses are made for a variety of specialized industrial applications and are
available in a wide range of metals, styles and sizes. Interlocked hose is manufactured by helically
winding preformed metal strip over a sizing mandrel and folding together the adjacent edges
forming the interlocked convolutions. A packing material may be inserted into a preformed groove
within the interlock to make the hose pressure tight or to minimize leakage.
Interlock hoses are excellent for applications involving the pneumatic transmission of flake or
pelletized plastics, grain, coal dust, slag and other dry granular or abrasive materials. It can be used
for the loading or unloading of ships, barges, containers, silos, elevators, highway and rail cars.
Also often used for air intake for diesel superchargers, exhausting gases from ovens and furnaces.
